A Ministerial Decree of 12 December 2003 set public access to documents after they are 30 years old. Requests to see files between 30 and 50 years old must be approved by a Diplomatic Committee.

Procedures
Researchers are advised to contact the Archives ahead of time as many requests require third party approval.
