There is no systematic declassification of government records. As such, only pre-independence records are currently available at the National Archives. Some post-independence diplomatic documents have been transferred to the National Archives, but have not yet been processed for research.

Procedures
Researchers should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request access to post-independence records and the National Archives for pre-independence material. Additionally, many records dealing with pre-independence Tunisian diplomatic history can be found in various French archives.
