Mr. Seward to Mr. King
Sir: Your despatches from number 33 to number 39, with the exception of number 35, have been received, and have been read with much interest. Your account of the feeling excited in Rome, and of the proceedings which took place there, on the reception of the news of the assassination of President Lincoln, are very gratifying.
I am, sir, your obedient servant,
Rufus King, Esq., &c., &c. Rome.
