Madrid , September 7, 1895 .

I have delayed answering note of minister for foreign affairs awaiting any comments from you on telegram giving contents of said note. In your telegram of 24th ultimo you use expression, “$1,500,000 in Spanish gold pesos.” Spanish minister expresses it as “1,500,000 Spanish gold pesos.” I await your comments upon this difference of words. Otherwise, entire agreement between your telegram and note of minister for foreign affairs.
