The Secretary of State to the Cuban Ambassador ( Torriente )

Excellency: I have the honor to refer to your note, dated January 14, 1924, concerning a proposed amendment to the immigration law by which a quota for Cuba would be established, and to state that I have received a communication from the Chairman of the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization of the House of Representatives, from which it appears that the Immigration Bill that has been reported to the House of Representatives by that Committee does not contain such a provision.
