83. President of Senate resigned today as Vice President and, following the Constitution, turned over the power to Montero, Minister of the Interior, who became Vice and Acting President. Retirement of President of Senate appeases the crowds, resentful at escape of Ibañez, and at the same time strengthens the situation. It is possible now that Blanquier who has held aloof will join the Cabinet. Ibañez is now in Argentina.
