86. Department’s telegram No. 54, March 31, noon, and my 84, March 31, 5 p.m. I saw Licenciado Beteta this morning and he told me that he has ascertained from General Avila Camacho46 that the American made planes were still in the possession of the Department and had not been placed on the Motomar. General Avila Camacho has informed him that they are keeping a careful check on the planes at Tejeria and other airfields. Repeated to Consul at Vera Cruz.
