54. Department’s circular July 17, 2 p.m. In the absence of the Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs, I discussed the substance of your statement contained in Radio Bulletin 164 with the Secretary General of the Foreign Office. He stated:
- (1)
- that the principles set forth in the statement are almost integrally those which have guided and continue to guide the Belgian Government in its foreign policy;
- (2)
- that most of these principles have been stated separately by high Belgian officials in public utterances;
- (3)
- that the Belgian Government is prepared in general to cooperate in advancing the principles in question.
