Department’s 512, March 18 and Embassy’s 682, March 18, 7 p.m.48 Further energetic representations have been made in appropriate quarters today, and it is believed that they gained some appreciation of the unfavorable reception recent British import orders have had in the United States. Board of Trade advises tonight that supplementary statement has been prepared for release by Embassy in Washington which they expect to cable immediately.
