419. Your 1356, November 17, 9 p.m.58 Department is informed by Joint Chiefs that Major General John A. Crane was designated on November 17 as Chief of United States Military Representation on the Allied Control Commission for Bulgaria. He has been ordered to proceed to Sofia from Caserta as soon as possible. Two additional [Page 490] Army members and a Navy member will shortly be designated and ordered to Sofia. Please inform Barnes.
