ReDept’s 2487, October 20, 10 p.m. On October 25 I wrote to Vyshinski to inform him concerning the public announcement made by the Treasury and War Departments respecting the Allied military mark. I also repeated the request originally made in Ambassador Harriman’s letter of September 11 to Molotov for information on Soviet plans for the use of military currency in Germany. As yet I have had no reply.
