My Dear Mr. Gaston: For the records of the Export-Import Bank I wish to confirm that on July 8, 1947, during his visit to Washington, I informed the Peruvian Foreign Minister that after consultation with the Export-Import Bank I was able to advise him that the Bank [Page 1015] would be prepared to give appropriate consideration on their economic merits to applications for loans which might be made by the Peruvian Government.
