602. Lopez Rodriguez of Ministry of Finance inquired re status present US/Brazil reciprocal trade agreement1 when GATT takes effect. He understands present agreement is not to be denounced but instead is to be suspended while GATT remains in force through exchange of notes. Telegraph action proposed this connection.
