Editorial Note

On September 17, 1952, a ceremony was held at the White House for the signing and exchange of loan documents for the loan of $15 million to Pakistan for the purchase of wheat. The loan was made by the Export-Import Bank, using funds made available by the Mutual Security Act of 1951, as amended. Copies of the remarks made by the President and the Ambassador of Pakistan at the ceremony are in the Secretary’s Memoranda, lot 53 D 444, White House Press Conferences.
