Sir: I acknowledge the receipt of your despatch of the 31st ultimo, No. 166, relative to your interview of that date with Mr. Drouyn de Lhuys, in regard to Mexican questions. Your proceedings on that occasion are approved. With regard to the views expressed by Mr. de Lhuys there is no occasion for special comment.
