The Swiss laborers and Working Men’s Union have hereby resolved to approve of the address of sympathy and devotion to the free people of the United [Page 572] States of North America, on account of their recent great victories and advantages, both in a political and social regard, and the undersigned citizens of Einsiedeln, in the canton of Schwyz, and the members of the Working Men’s Union of the same place, send their cordial congratulations for triumphs, and their heartfelt sorrows for the atrocious murder of the noblest and greatest citizen of the Union, President Abraham Lincoln.
