At a public meeting of 350 Swiss citizens, held in Locle on the 3d of May, for the purpose of elections, the following resolution was spontaneously adopted:

In presence of the universal mourning that now covers the American people, the citizens present at this meeting declare their profound sorrow and deep indignation at the monstrous act of assassination committed upon Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States.

This manifest shall be transmitted to the Federal Council for communication to its proper address.
