Damages stated at Bible House as not excessive—for Harpoot, $87, 985; for Marash, $10,560. Letters from Gates, Harpoot, charge that orders which controlled movements of attacking party, which resulted in burning, issued from Mustapha Pasha, commander in chief of army division. Telegram from Marash dated 16th reports all safe and protected. Can communicate by mail and telegraph with Marash. Missionaries will not express desire to leave unless instructed.
