The Chilean Minister to the Secretary of State.
Washington, March 28, 1910.
Sir: On being apprised of the favorable reception given by your excellency to the invitations I had the honor to extend to you for the representation of the United States at the celebration of our independence, my Government instructed me by telegraph to express its thanks to your excellency, and in confirming these instructions by mail the minister of foreign relations of Chile says the following:
It is most gratifying to the department to note the cordial sentiments toward Chile evidenced in the conference to which you refer by the Secretary of State of the United States, which sentiments are further emphasized by the designation of the delegates who will represent that Government in September next.
I find particular pleasure in transmitting the foregoing to your excellency, and avail myself, etc.
