Excellency: Referring to your note of the 3d instant, stating that the armistice is being taken advantage of to send arms and ammunition for insurgents into Mexican territory, I have the honor to inform you that the Department is advised by the Department of Justice that this information was communicated to the United States marshal for the western district of Texas, by telegraph, on the 3d instant.
