Sir: I inclose herewith a copy of the Department’s letter of the 20th instant,1 and a copy of one dated the 21st instant from the Navy Department in reply thereto,1 from which you will observe that the Navy Department has arranged for the Yorktown to remain at Corinto until relieved by the Vicksburg and for the Marietta to be kept in wireless communication with Bluefields.

You will communicate this information to the consuls at Corinto and Bluefields.
