Sir: Referring to my telegram No. 119, September 25, 6 p.m., I have the honor to transmit copies of the notes exchanged on September 28 with the Chilean Government on commercial policy (Enclosures Nos. 1 and 2).8

After the elections I hope that conditions will be such with the new Government that negotiations for a definite commercial treaty may soon be resumed and I would appreciate appropriate instructions.
