By special request of Mr. Coates, Acting Prime Minister, I called upon him this morning and was informed that New Zealand Government [Page 112] would be glad to consider a reciprocal trade agreement with United States and it was suggested that I ascertain by cable your views upon the subject. Please refer to my despatch No. 290 of April 10th, last.
