Legation’s telegram No. 47, July 14, 10 a.m. I am glad to be able to report that as a result of further informal representations the local post office is now digging up old mail matter which was at first believed to have been destroyed. The Legation and American nationals have recently been receiving periodicals dated March, April, etc., 1936, and I am hopeful that more will be forthcoming.
Please inform Post Office Department but not for publication.
