44. The Secretary General57 has communicated to members of the League and of the Advisory Committee a communication from the Chinese delegation protesting against renewed indiscriminate bombing by Japanese planes of open villages around Canton. The communication states “These continued air bombings appear to us not only cruelty to humanity but also flagrant defiance of League resolution as well as present strong world opinion against slaughter civilians through aerial attacks”.
