It is apparent to us that one of the principal objectives which the Japanese hope to accomplish by the establishment of a mission to the Holy See is to influence Catholic sentiment, particularly in the American Republics and to some extent in China and the Philippines.
In your conversations with Vatican officials you may wish to bring this to their attention.
