Please express to President Vargas, Souza Costa, Guedes and such other Brazilian authorities as may have contributed to the avoidance of coffee rationing in this country, your Government’s heartfelt thanks for their prompt and effective action, which is only the last of a long series of instances in which Brazil and the United States have demonstrated how two friendly powers can work together in an understanding manner to serve their common interests. Ambassador Caffery has asked me to permit him to join with me in this message.
