We had another long talk with Stalin tonight2 the details of which I will report fully in the morning.3 He again indicated that he was anxious to meet you at any time you wished and said that in the suburbs of Berlin there would be adequate quarters for such a meeting. As he appeared desirous of getting your views you may wish to advise me whether you are willing to come to the Berlin area. Assuming that in the meantime the Control Council has been set up and our forces stationed in that area. Do you want me to tell him that you would like to meet around the 15th of July. I think Stalin would like to have the meeting at an earlier date because of the many pressing problems to be decided. …
