1172. Dept 1058 Nov 5.⁴⁰ Nov meetings IEFC and FAO decided former should be dissolved, that commodity committees will continue under supervision new Committee (International Emergency Food Committee) of FAO Council. If Arg still unwilling join FAO and possibly regarding merger as obstacle joining IEFC, suggest pointing out that FAO Council agreed non-FAO members can be members commodity committees and of new IEFC. Latter provision adopted with Arg specifically in mind. Non-FAO members have privilege participating in FAO Council discussions on allocations questions in which they substantially interested.
