Editorial Note

The Israeli Ambassador, on November 28, sent note No. EC/3/20/1 to the Secretary of State, which requested that authority be granted to make direct purchase of surplus materials from United States Army stores in Europe. The note indicated Israeli interest in such items as food, medical and signal equipment, tools and machinery, motor vehicles and spare parts, payment for which was to be made by letter of credit, cash on delivery, or any other method acceptable to the United States Government.

The Secretary of State, in a note of January 15, 1951, informed the Israeli Ambassador that the matter had been referred to the appropriate authorities. The exchange of notes is filed under 784A.56/11–2850.
