Constantinople, January 1, 1896. (Received Jan. 17.)
No. 751.]Constantinople, January 1, 1896. (Received Jan. 17.)
Sir: I have the honor to inform you that a telegram, just received from Consul Jewett at Sivas, informs me that he has left Sivas for Marsovan.
The apprehension of a renewed massacre which prevented him several days ago from going under my telegraphic order to Marsovan, temporarily, on the application of missionaries here, no longer exists, I presume, at Sivas.
I have, etc.,
A. W. Terrell.
