Excellency: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your excellency’s four notes, numbered 534, 535, 536, and 538, the first two of which bear date of the 30th ultimo and the remaining two bearing date of the 31st ultimo and the 2d instant, respectively, all of which relate to alleged violations or contemplated violations of the neutrality laws of the United States.
In reply, I have the honor to inform your excellency that copies of these notes have been sent to the appropriate authorities, for such action as may be considered necessary.
