6429. From Pell. Hurst, Chairman War Crimes Commission, inquired if press statement in despatch No. 17295 satisfactory to Department. Hurst deeply concerned about articles appearing in British newspapers. He has stated that unless contrary advice is received from Department, he will assume that the press statement meets with its approval and accordingly will call press conference next week and release statement.
